Fundraiser at the AmVets Friends and family of Bob Dinges will have a fundraiser at AmVets Hall, 576 Primrose St., on June 20 from 7 p.m. to midnight. The event is for Bob Dinges, who was recently diagnosed with a severe, debilitating neurological disease after his lung transplant in May 2007. Tickets are $25 per person and available at the door. The event includes food, dancing with disc jockey Ed Magee, a silent auction, 50/50 raffles and door prizes. Team members needed The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Haverhill seeks local residents to serve as committee members, team captains and volunteers for the event on June 13 and 14 at Northern Essex Community College. All money raised will support the American Cancer Society's programs of research, education, advocacy and service. Relays are 12 to 24 hours long and go overnight. Teams of eight to 15 people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground, and take turns walking, jogging or running around a track or path.
