The Haverhill Community Violence Coalition, Haverhill High School's Violence Intervention Prevention Team (VIP) and the Haverhill Police Department sponsored a Back to School celebration recently at the Union Street/McMurrer Park. In collaboration with local businesses, Community Action Inc. and the Lowell Wish Project, 100 backpacks were distributed for free to youths who attended the event. Youths also participated in a variety of games run by members of the VIP Team.
