The Wine & Food Pairing on Nov. 7, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Andover Country Club, will delight the palate and give participants the opportunity to help build a hospice house in Haverhill.
The event will feature specially selected wines with autumn-inspired samplings of fine cheeses, specialty pasta, savory entrées and sweet endings. The evening also will feature musical entertainment and an exciting silent auction. Tickets are $60 per person, with all proceeds benefiting Merrimack Valley Hospice House.
Merrimack Valley Hospice House will have 14 private bedrooms large enough to accommodate patients and families. It is being built on 39 acres at 360 North Ave., Haverhill. Merrimack Valley Hospice House is dedicated to providing care for terminally ill patients and their families in a comfortable, home-like setting with amenities like kitchens, libraries, gathering spaces, children's area and a meditation garden. This project will mark the first of its kind in the Merrimack Valley. Merrimack Valley Hospice House will be the first hospice house in Massachusetts with licensed pediatric rooms. The project has an estimated cost of $8.5 million, and to date the Campaign Committee has raised more than $4.1 million. The building has been designed to allow an additional seven beds to be added in the future.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event. Contact Brett Bovio, development officer, at 978-552-4927 or bbovio@homehealthfoundation.org to purchase tickets or secure sponsorships. Space is limited.
