HAVERHILL — Two rings were stolen from a Methuen man while he worked out at the Cedardale Athletic Club on Boston Road, police said.

Aleksey Averin told police he is a member of the club and was there working out on Oct. 28.

Averin told police he put his clothing and belongings in a locker on the main floor of the gym, and later retrieved them and left.

He did not notice his two rings had been stolen, police said.

When he contacted the club he learned his wedding ring had been turned in at the front desk, but the second ring, valued at $2,400 is still missing.

The ring was described as white and yellow gold with several diamonds encrusted on the sides. The center of the ring is comprised of several diamond chips and cut diamonds forming a square.

Averin reported the theft at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
