HAVERHILL — An automobile diagnostic machine valued at $14,000 was stolen from a Winter Street garage, police said.
A manager of Ideal Cars Service Center, 117 Winter St., told police the Snap On Tools Modis Scanner had been kept on a shelf in the garage and was stolen sometime during the past month.
The manager said there was no forced entry to the shop and that the diagnostic machine must have been taken during working hours.
He told police he has no suspects in mind, but that whoever took the machine must have some connection to the station.
The machine cannot be used by anyone until the serial number is registered with Snap On Tools. The manager told police he would contact the tool company to see if anyone had attempted to register the stolen unit for use.
