The owner of the Cherokee called police at 10:16 p.m. Wednesday to report hearing what sounded like two gunshots outside her home, police Capt. Alan Ratte said.
Officers discovered a single gunshot through the passenger side window of the Cherokee, Ratte said. The bullet went through the padding of the driver's seat and lodged in the driver's side door, he said.
No shell casings were recovered at the scene, but officers were able to recover the spent bullet from the Jeep, Ratte said.
There are leads in the case, and Detective Carl Rogers is investigating, Ratte said.
