Derry man faces four counts of sexual assault

DERRY — A Derry man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl turned himself in to police on Monday.

Dana Burke, 35, of 15 Alyssa Drive, was arrested at the police station. Police had previously obtained a warrant and notified him he was wanted, Lt. Barry Charewicz said.

Charewicz said police are not providing specifics about the alleged assault because of the girl's age.

Burke is charged with four counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, police said. He is out on bail after $25,000 in corporate surety bonds were posted for him. He signed an extradition waiver as a bail condition and agreed to stay 100 yards away from the girl.

He is due back in Derry District Court on March 13 for a probable cause hearing. Police said the assaults happened sometime between October and December 2007.
