May 07, 2008 05:55 am SALEM — The town expects to complete three major road projects this year, or at least get them close to completion. The road repaving project in the neighborhood of Mary Ann and Elsie avenues is expected to be completed by August, according to town Engineering Director Bob Puff. Puff expects the North Main Street project, which has been going on for more than a year, will be mostly complete by late summer, as well. The final phase of that project — called a top course — might not go down before winter, though, and workers might have to complete that part of the project next spring. But Puff hopes the top course will be finished this October. Paving should begin this summer on roads in the neighborhood of Shore Drive. Town officials are still waiting for permits from the state's environmental agency and right-of-way agreements with about five residents, Puff said. Once those agreements are in place, work will begin, he added.
