Derry man arrested after police chase

DERRY — A local man was arrested yesterday after leading police on a chase through downtown Derry on his motorcycle.

An officer running radar on High Street attempted to pull over Jason Pecci, 30, of 5L Mills Farm Circle for driving too fast on his Kawasaki 1000, but he wouldn't stop, police Capt. Vernon Thomas said.

He originally slowed down, but then sped up and led police on a chase across Broadway and along back roads, Thomas said. Police finally cornered him in Bang's Mobile Home Park off Kendall Pond Road and arrested him.

Pecci was charged with disobeying a police officer, reckless driving and driving after suspension. He is being held on $1,000 bail pending arraignment in Derry District Court.
