Windham police search for naked man

By Terry Date
Staff writer

WINDHAM — Police called in a K-9 unit to help track a naked man who knocked on the door of a Brookview Road home Tuesday night.

Hearing the knock about 11:20 p.m., a resident of the over 55 housing complex looked out a window and saw a nude man with long hair and called police, Windham police Sgt. Glenn Record said.

A K-9 unit from Salem picked up a scent of a person from a ground imprint and followed it for a few hundred yards before losing the trail, Record said. The humidity likely contributed to loss of the scent, he said.

Police repeatedly searched the area but did not find the man. Patrols were increased in that area, police said.

Pelham police also assisted Windham officers in the search. The incident remains under investigation.
