PLAISTOW, N.H. — Police arrested a 23-year-old man Monday for stealing from his mother and sister.

Michael Bianchi of 6 Woodridge Drive was charged with theft and is due in Plaistow District Court on Oct. 6, according to Deputy Chief Kathleen Jones.

Police were called to the Woodridge Drive home just after 2 p.m. after a family member reported Bianchi had stolen $100, jewelry and prescription drugs from them, Jones said.

Bianchi did not know that his family had called police when officers arrived. With police there, the mother and sister confronted him with stealing $100 cash from his mother's pocketbook and other previous thefts, Jones said.

"He kept saying, 'I'll pay you back, don't do this,'" she said.

Officers took Bianchi back to the police station, where they found out he has a problem with prescription drugs, Jones said. Police charged him with the theft and his family is trying to get him help with his drug problem, she said.
