WINDHAM — A grand jury indicted a Billerica, Mass., man on charges of hitting a local resident with his pickup truck while fleeing the scene of an attempted theft.
Christopher Grannis, 21, of 19 Woodside Road, was indicted in Rockingham County Superior Court on charges of second-degree assault, reckless conduct, resisting arrest, attempted theft and robbery.
On June 21, Windham police used a Taser to subdue Grannis after he wrestled with officers trying to handcuff him.
Neighbors reported seeing some young men roll a go-cart toward their truck outside Landry's Motorcycle Sales at 120 Lowell St.
Grannis is accused of striking one of the neighbors with his pickup truck after the neighbor asked what he was doing.
Grannis was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail, and remains in Rockingham County jail.
Grannis is to be scheduled for arraignment and trial in Superior Court.
He faces four felonies and a misdemeanor, the resisting arrest charge.
The felonies are each punishable by a maximum prison sentence of three and a half to seven years. The misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum sentence of one year.
