WINDHAM, N.H. — A longtime town employee was arrested Friday on a sexual assault charge.
Robert Dobson, who works at the town transfer/recycling center, was arraigned the same day in Derry District Court, according to Windham police. He was released on personal recognizance bail.
Police refused to release Dobson's age or address yesterday, or any details about the alleged incident, other than to say that the charge is a felony.
Dennis Senibaldi, the chairman of the Board of Selectmen, said yesterday that he had received a phone message informing him that a town employee had been arrested, but the message did not indicate the employee's name.
He said he expects the board will receive an update on the arrest in nonpublic session on Monday.
Dobson and Transfer Station Manager David Poulson did not immediately return phone calls yesterday.
In an earlier interview, Dobson, a Windham resident, said he had been an operator at the station since 1989.
Senibaldi confirmed that Dobson is a longtime town employee.
Windham police said Dobson will have a probable cause hearing later in Salem District Court.
