Sandown recreation offers holiday trip

SANDOWN — Sandown Parks and Recreation has planned a holiday trip for Wednesday, Dec. 2, to western Massachusetts and the Log Cabin Restaurant with its breathtaking views from atop the Mount Tom Range in Holyoke, Mass.

Enjoy a holiday luncheon, a "Merry Christmazz Show" with international singer and entertainer Jimmy Mazz and cap off the day with a stop at the famous Bright Nights Christmas display in Forest Park on the way home.

There will be fun on the bus, including Christmas carols, prizes and a movie. The price includes coach bus, luncheon, show, admission to Bright Nights, and all taxes and gratuities.

Lunch includes hors d'oeuvres, squash soup, a combo plate featuring braised beef and cranberry-walnut stuffed chicken, rich pilaf, vegetable and chocolate tuxedo cake. Each guest receives a complimentary petite bottle of wine.

Mazz is known for his current show, "Crooning Vegas Style." Joining him is special guest Deborah Deschamps, singing many great holiday songs, and two special guests. The day will end with a two mile tour of the half-million lights at the Bright Nights Christmas Light Display, the largest in New England, from the warmth and comfort of the coach bus.

Departure is at 8:45 a.m. from Town Hall, with return by approximately 7:30 p.m. The cost is $44 per person for Sandown seniors 60 and older, with a $22 nonrefundable deposit and the balance due by Nov. 24. All others may register beginning Nov. 13 for $55 per person with payment in full.

All payments are by check or money order only, payable to Sandown Recreation, P.O. Box 644, Sandown, 03873. The trip is nonrefundable, unless canceled by the Recreation Commission due to a lack of participants.

This is an adult-only trip. Call 887-1872 if you have any questions.
