The House is set to vote today on a bill that would encourage the construction of renewable energy facilities.
It's not enough. It's becoming as clear as the glass on Edison's first incandescent light that energy deregulation is a bust; despite the extravagant promises from politicians and supporters, electric bills are higher, not lower. The state still blunders away, taking energy issues one at a time instead of developing a comprehensive energy policy.
