Letter: Thanks for support in a difficult time

To the editor:

Marty Johnson was a loving person and had a huge amount of friends. Some were more like family to him. You made his life complete with friendship and happiness.

As you know it has been a very difficult few months for us with Marty passing away. We have found strength and comfort through our family and friends. Marty may be gone in body but not in mind or spirit. He will live on forever in all of us through our love and memories.

Marty and Melyssa are having a baby boy. Marty Christopher Coviello Johnson will be arriving around Jan. 19, 2009. We are so excited!

Marty's Ride was a great success. The Massachusetts Motorcyclists' Survivors Fund organized the event which was held at the Gateway Pub in Lawrence. We were told that the first ride would have no more than 75 riders. We had 116. It was an awesome sight to see. We are looking to keep Marty's memory alive and are planning a second ride around Marty's birthday in July 2009. We saw a lot of familiar friends and made a great deal of new friends. Our many thanks go to the Massachusetts Motorcyclists' Survivors Fund, the Gateway Pub, and all of you that made this truly special event a success.

Our family would also like to send many thanks to everyone at TD Banknorth in Middleton for all their generosity and support with the Marty's Baby Fund.

A special thank you goes to Brad at Drastic Tattoo in Peabody for all his donations and his wonderful tribute to Marty. His support has been wonderful.

Thank you to all our family and friends!

I would personally like to say an extra special thank you to Sarah Luscomb, Paula Evans, Debra Jones, Jill Mann, Gilda Elmstrom, Marcia Swift, Dave Vater, Isabel and Tom Harris for helping with the funeral, work and all my pain. I love you all.

For the Johnson family,

DONNA JOHNSON

Middleton
