Letter: Don't blame all Muslims for shooter's crime
To the editor:
The shootings at Fort Hood were by anyone's definition, horrendous. To have people serving our country killed at their own base is almost beyond belief. But this was the act of one crazed individual, not sanctioned by any group or religion.
We, as a very diverse nation, cannot blame all Muslims for this one insane person's actions. If he was of any other religion would we condemn all of the people of that religion?
I have worked with people from many other cultures and I find that no matter where they are from, or what their religions are, they want the same things: a good job, a roof over their head, and for their children to do better than they did.
In my experience, these so called foreigners love this country as much as us second and third generation immigrants do. Please do not treat an entire people with disrespect because of the actions of one crazed individual.
That is not the American way.
