Two-hit gem

Ryan Browner tossed a two-hitter to lead Georgetown past Amesbury, 11-0. Browner struck out six and walked just two in seven strong innings.

Johanson's big day

Dan Johanson pitched seven strong innings and went 5 for 6 at the plate to power Pentucket in a 9-7 victory over Lynnfield. Johanson allowed three hits and struck out five to pick up his first win of the year.

"Dan Johanson won the game for us," coach Tom L'Italien said.

Actually, Bobby DiSorbo did the honors, stroking a two-run single in the 10th inning to give Pentucket the lead for good.

Clearing the bases

Matt Calos' bases-clearing triple in the Hornets' 7-run second inning was the decisive play as it put North Reading up 9-1. The Hornets held on to beat Newburyport, 15-14.

Scoring machine

With yesterday's 19-3 win over Souhegan, Londonderry has now scored 41 goals and allowed just three in two games. Kayla Green (five goals, three assists) and Dana Boyle (five goals) led the way yesterday.

Astros soar past West

Behind a five-goal effort from Teagan Norris, Pinkerton crushed Manchester West, 19-2. Tom Auger (three goals), Brian Estes (three goals) and Kyle Hanaway (two goals) also had multiple goals.

No stopping Sarah

Sarah Erlandson went 3 for 4, drove in four runs and fanned 15 over six innings as the Royals dismantled Manchester Essex, 15-0. Sarah Osborne and Cally O'Connor chipped in a pair of RBI, as well. Erlandson has registered strikeout totals of 14, 15 and 15 in Georgetown's three games.

Wray of light

Lynsay Wray pulled off an impressive double, winning the mile and the 800 in North Andover's loss to Triton. The races were only about 10 minutes apart.

Welcome relief

Greater Lawrence led Whittier 9-2 after one inning, but Shannon Dube sparked a huge rally with her tremendous pitching to help the 'Cats come away with the 15-12 victory. Dube limited the Reggies to three runs (all in the sixth) while striking out seven in six innings of relief. Kendra Hobbs had a homer and four RBI, while Emily Pomer and Kristina Terry knocked in three.
