Salem's Bettencourt drives in seven runs in Salem runaway

Katie Bettencourt was 4 for 4 with a grand slam, a triple and a whopping seven RBIs as Salem bested Winnacunnet 13-2. In her first varsity start on the mound, Nora Galvin allowed only two hits over six innings, striking out five and adding two hits and three runs. Steph Cabral chipped in with three RBIs and Erica DePinto and Julia Gray each drove in one run.

Brooke Beaudet pitched a complete game two-hitter as Londonderry beat Goffstown 10-0. Beaudet struck out ten and walked just two. Andrea Ouellette was 3 for 3 with three doubles and two RBIs for the Lancers.

Annie Hansbury had two hits and drove in five runs to propel Timberlane past Manchester Central, 11-4. Stephanie Glazier contributed two hits and two runs for the winners.

Michelle Hollebeke dominated for Phillips Academy, striking out 15 in a 6-1 win over BB&N. Hollebeke scattered four hits, all singles, and did not allow an earned run. Methuen's Brianna McCarthy had a hit for the Big Blue.

Britt Hart struck out a dozen and knocked an RBI triple in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as Brooks fell to Lawrence Academy 6-3. Kelly Toomey and Emmy Gustafson also stood out.

Johnson leads Salem's offensive attack

Salem pounded out 15 hits to down Winnacunnet 14-4. The Blue Devils broke the game open with a nine run fourth inning. Kyle Johnson was 2 for 2, driving in two runs and Joe O'Dell tallied two RBIs. Greg Bates finished 3 for 4 with three runs scored for the winners.

Pat Hamilton was 3 for 3 with a pair of runs and four RBIs in Timberlane's 9-2 romp over Manchester Central. Jeff DiSalvo was 2 for 3 with three runs and recorded the win on the mound.

Despite two RBIs from John Lenane, Sanborn fell to Campbell 12-6. Joe Pollack scored twice and Andy Nelson notched two hits and scored once for the Indians.

Andover's Mike Palermo gave Phillips the lead with an RBI since in the second, and the Big Blue never looked back in an 8-1 win over Cushing Academy. North Andover's Bobby Farnham chipped in with an RBI triple for the winners.

Lawrence Academy toppled Brooks 15-1. Matt Murphy recorded a single and Derek Murphy threw three standout innings of relief in his first varsity appearance.

Vastl win helps Salem stays perfect

Salem remained undefeated by defeating Winnacunnet 8-1. Fourth single player Joel Vastl and sixth single Chris Correia each swept their match. Jordan Faulconer and Tim Briggs teamed to take third doubles for the Blue Devils.

Tyler Palmieri won No. 2 singles, Chris Bowen took No. 4 singles and they teamed to win No. 2 doubles as Londonderry bested Goffstown 5-4. Alex Burbine won No. 1 singles and joined Evan Walsh to take No. 1 doubles for the Lancers.

Pelham fell to Hanover 9-0. Brady Tryon stood out at No. 6 singles for the Pythons.

Murphy, McKinney pace Lancers

Kelli Murphy won first singles, Ali McKinney took second singles and they teamed to take first doubles for Londonderry, which downed Goffstown 9-0. Jen Kutt (No. 3 singles) and Katie Bever (No. 4 singles) added a win at No. 2 doubles for the Lancers.

Taylor LaPointe won No. 3 singles, but Pelham fell to Hanover 7-2. Nicole Mastacouris added a win at No. 6 singles for the Pythons.

Dresser's efforts for naught

Cole Dresser won the long jump, 100, 200 and ran on the winning 4x100 relay, but it was not enough and Timberlane fell to Winnacunnet, 86-59.

Phillips crushed Cushing, 96-42. Andover's Corbin Tognoni won both hurdles events, while Michael Bernieri threw the shot put and the discus for wins. Michael Donelan won the triple jump and the 200.

Girls Track

Trahan wins three, but Timberlane falls

Sarah Trahan won the shot put, discus and javelin, but Timberlane still fell to Winnacunnet, 86-59. Lindsey Patterson added a win in the pole vault for the Owls.

Phillips cruised past Cushing 122-21. Alexis Dawkins won the long jump and 400. Nyab Khan added wins in the shot put and the discus for the Big Blue.

Girls Lacrosse

DeShaw scores twice in loss

Morgan DeShaw and Lindsay Desharnais each scored two goals, but Timberlane fell to Hanover 11-7. Brittany McFarland-Bateman, Kristen Norton and Emily Cannon each tallied one goal for the Owls.

Katie Herter scored five goals to help Brooks cruise past Lawrence Academy, 16-4. Christine Donovan scored two goals and nine other players contributed one goal each for the winners. Carly Churchill made six saves.

Jess Salley was one of three Andover players to strike for multiple goals in a 16-4 win over archrival Central Catholic. Salley scored a team-high three goals, while Heather Sullivan and Kelly Fox each potted two goals. Regina LaRose netted a pair for the Raiders.

Phillips Academy coasted to a 16-8 win over Milton Academy. Dana Feeny tallied four goals and an assist, Alissa Fromkin added three goals and Summer Washburn and Britney Van Valkenburg also scored twice apiece.

Boys Lacrosse

Goulet tallied five goals for Brooks

Olav Goulet's five goals and one assist helped lift Brooks past Lawrence Academy, 10-3. Ross Pierce added two goals for Brooks. Jimmy Campbell stood out on defense and contributed two assists and Nick Galanos made 13 saves.

Volleyball

Gomes's 24 assists vault Central Catholic

Tom Gomes delivered 24 assists as Central Catholic downed archrival Andover 25-22, 25-18, 25-21. Freshman Jim Zenevitch had nine kills while Rory Blinn notched 11 kills, Adrian Gonzalez recorded 14 kills and Dan Leary had 18 digs for the Raiders (8-4).

Colleges

UMass Lowell eliminated from playoff picture

UMass Lowell baseball fell to Pace, 7-1, eliminating the River Hawks from playoff contention. Anthony Santos notched two hits for Lowell.
