Girls Lacrosse Lancers notch historic win For the first time in program history, Londonderry defeated Pinkerton. The Lancers prevailed 8-6, handing the Astros their first loss of the season. 'The girls really worked for this one," said Londonderry coach Bob Slater. "Defensively our kids were outstanding. And to have five different goal scorers in a game like this says something for this program." Kayla Green, Dana Boyle and Jenn Borjeson each scored twice for Londonderry while Nicole Curry and Kacie Connal each scored three goals for Pinkerton. ... Boys Tennis Walsh, Londonderry cruise Londonderry defeated Manchester Memorial, 5-1, in a rain-shortened match. Evan Walsh, Chris Bowen and Phil Biondo each won 8-0. Girls Tennis Murphy comes up big Kelli Murphy earned a shutout win at No. 1 singles then teamed with Ali McKinney for a sweep at No. 1 doubles as Londonderry swept Manchester Memorial. Jen Kutt, Katie Bever and Cassie Kelly also swept their respective singles matches. Synchronized Swimming Synchers win 18 gold medals The Andover-North Andover YMCA Synchers turned in quite an effort at the New Englands in Ipswich, where they earned 18 gold medals, 8 silvers and 5 bronzes. The 18-19 team, which includes Maggie Conlon and Meaghan Arsenault of Methuen, and Jessica Mancini, Kelly Mahoney and Erica Potts of Andover, brought home the gold. The 16-17 squad also brought home top honors. That team included Amber Blum, Rebecca Ely, Laina Gray, Caitlyn McGregor and Alison Ziel of North Andover along with Sheila Cremin, Candace Ju and Emily Stone of Andover. The 13-15 team also captured the gold. Marian Crockett and Christine Wu of Andover, Alyson Arsenault of Methuen and Alice Rodgers and Sarah Higgins of North Andover competed for the Synchers.
