Fisher Cats hold on to down Binghamton

David Cooper singled with two outs in the top of the third inning and Brad Emaus walked with the bases loaded later in the frame as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats opened a series in Binghamton with a 3-2 win last night.

The game was delayed nearly two hours at the start due to rain, but that didn't seem to affect New Hampshire starter Marty McLeary.

He picked up his first win as a Fisher Cat, working 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out four. Rommie Lewis worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief. Danny Farquhar set down the Mets in order in the last of the ninth inning for his second save.

The series continues tonight with Brandon Magee (4-5, 5.06) going for New Hampshire against Binghamton's Eric Brown (4-7, 5.54).
