CAT GROSS, Andover Senior, Midfield

All-Scholastic selection. MVC co-Division 1 MVP. Led the 14-5-1 Golden Warriors with 81 points, good for seventh in the area. Scored 46 goals. Four-year starter was held off the score sheet just once this spring. Scored a career-best seven goals in a 12-9 win over N.H. Division 1 runner up Pinkerton. "She's the ultimate two-way player,'' said coach John McVeigh. Will play at UConn.

SHANNON HARTFORD, Georgetown Senior, Midfield

All-CAL Division 2 MVP. The 2008 Eagle-Tribune MVP. Ranked fifth in the area in goals (67) and second in points (125). Scored five or more goals in seven games. Finished her brilliant career with 326 goals and 511 points. She's believed to be the second leading scorer in EMass history to Westwood's Meredith Frank (306-246—552). Will play at Division 1 Presbyterian (S.C.).

TAYLOR HADCOCK, Londonderry Senior, Goalie

All-Division 1 selection. Two-year starter. Recorded a stellar four shutouts, including one in the Division 1 quarterfinals, and an outstanding 3.6 goals-against average. Made 17 saves in title game win over Pinkerton. Also recorded 17 stops in regular-season win over Astros. Volunteered to play goalie as a freshman. Will play at Vermont. "I expect her to start in a year or two,'' said coach Bob Slater.

DANA BOYLE, Londonderry Junior, Midfielder

Three-time All-Division 1 selection. Ranked fourth in the area in goals with 68 and fifth in points with 83. Scored just 20 seconds into championship game. Finished the title game with three goals. Scored at least four goals in 10 games. Has 184 career goals. "She is one of the most agile, game-smart players in New England," said coach Bob Slater. Also a fine soccer player.

JENN PINO, North Andover Senior, Midfielder

All-Scholastic. CAL Division 1 MVP. Finished third in the area in goals (74) and third in points (97). Scored five goals in Division 2 North final, sending North Andover to its first state final. Scored nine goals against Masconomet. Also an Eagle-Tribune All-Star in soccer (20 goals) and was second in the area in points for girls ice hockey (13-12—25). Will play lacrosse and soccer at Merrimack.

STEPHANIE TAYLOR, North Andover Senior, Goalie

Repeat Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Backbone of squad that went 20-5 and advanced to state final for the first time in program's nine-year history. Had 8.0 goals-against average. Made 16 saves in Division 2 North quarterfinals win over defending state champion Winchester. Lost hearing at 2-years-old, but underwent 17 surgeries to regain partial hearing. Will play lacrosse at Division 1 Siena.

BREANNA YOCUM, Pentucket Junior, midfield

All-CAL selection. Finished second in the area in goals (78) and fourth in points (86). Led Pentucket to a 13-7 record and berth in the Division 2 North semifinals, the furthest a Sachems team has advanced in its six-year history. Scored 37 goals last year. Co-captain elect. Two-year soccer starter. "She has the ability to slice and dice through defenses. She's a definite college prospect," said coach Bob Pierce.

KAITLIN GAISS, Phillips Senior, goalie

North Andover resident. Has signed on to play lacrosse at Division 1 Duke, which went 16-8 and advanced to the Elite 8 this season. One of 47 senior schoolgirls selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Classic. Scored 1,950 on her SATs. Also a goalie on the ice hockey team and a defender in field hockey. Talented juggler. Her brother, Ryan, is a star wrestler for the Big Blue.

CORI REES, Pinkerton Junior, defense

Repeat All-New Hampshire Division 1 selection. At 5-foot-10, deftly deflects and alter shots. Also saw time as a midfielder. Scored 16 goals, including a pair of scores in 13-12 regular-season loss to eventual state champion Londonderry. Three-year letterman. "She is just amazing at knocking shots down," said coach Bryon Murphy. "But she can light it up at both ends." East Hampstead resident.

Londonderry's Green wins triple crown

Simply put, Kayla Green did it all.

Win the state title, check. Lead the area in goals, check. Lead area in scoring, check. That's a triple crown.

"She is the best player around," said Londonderry coach Bob Slater. "From Day 1, she was special, and has just gotten better and better every year. She has the finishing touch."

With Green leading the way, Londonderry claimed the first state title in the program's 11-year history, downing archrival Pinkerton in the Division 1 state title game 9-6. The Lancers finished with an outstanding 19-1 record, with their only loss coming to Massachusetts state semifinalist Framingham.

Green led the area with 90 goals, 12 better than second place, and her 133 points led the region by eight. She scored three goals in the title game, and was an Eagle-Tribune All-Star last year with 68 goals.

"Kayla does it all," said Slater. "She's not flashy, but she is so aggressive. She has great vision and great skills. She knows when to dish it off, and when to shoot it. And she has the finishing touch.

"She can also take draws and, on defense, she goes after the ball and causes turnover after turnover."

Green was just as special in field hockey. In her senior season, she was an Eagle-Tribune All-Star forward after scoring 25 goals to lead the Lancers to their first title in 27 years.

She will continue her lacrosse career at Division 2 Stonehill.

"Players can't stay with her around the cage," said Slater of his two-year captain. "She was our quarterback and a real leader on and off the field. She will start right away in college."
