JON BORDONARO, Georgetown Senior, midfield

Scored 46 goals, good for third in the area. Had only eight career goals heading into the season. All-CAL selection. Took 70 percent of faceoffs for Royals. Selflessly played some long-pole defense when team was short-handed. Coach Matt Bouchard said, "He got his opportunity and took advantage." A few days into practice was named a tri-captain. CAL All-Star in soccer.

JOE NATALE, Haverhill Senior, attack

Repeat MVC All-Star. Tied for the area high in goals with 57, and placed third in the area with 76 points, just ahead of teammate Nick Vazquez (74 points). Finished his prolific career with 101 goals and 138 points. Scored seven goals in a win over Tewksbury, and scored six goals a whopping three times. Scored at least one goal in every game this season. Former football standout but didn't play in fall.

STEVE RIBERO, Londonderry Senior, attack

Scored a team-high 34 goals. His 54 points ranked 11th in the area. Scored four goals twice, once in a win over Salem. Had four other hat tricks. Was held off the scoreboard just once, by powerhouse Bishop Guertin. After two years on varsity team, took last season off to play spring hockey. Played three years of hockey at Londonderry before moving to juniors. Will play lacrosse at Southern Maine.

BRIEN O'CONNOR, North Andover Junior, Goalie

Repeat Eagle-Tribune All-Star. All-CAL selection. Two-year starter was in net for all 23 games, recording a stellar 5.5 goals-against average for the second year in a row. Had a 66.0 save percentage over the last two years. Made 17 saves in tourney win over Norwood, and 14 in a win over Newton North. "He had some incredible games," said coach Steve Connolly. Plays defense on the hockey team.

TYLER ZAHORUIKO, North Andover Senior, Attack

All-CAL selection. Finished in a tie for eighth in the area with 39 goals. Tallied 53 points. Co-captain. "He has very good stick skills and speed," said coach Steve Connolly. Scored just 15 goals last season due to broken bone in his hand, but still finished his career with exactly 100 scores. Three-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star skier. Also golfs. From a long line of standout athletes. Will attend Bryant.

BRIAN ESTES, Pinkerton Senior, Attack

Two-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Tallied 38 goals and 53 points this spring. Four-year starter finished career with 137 goals, eighth all-time at Pinkerton. "It's not his velocity, it's the placement,'' said coach Brian O'Reilly. Played in National Showcase All-Star game, scoring four goals. Scored at least three goals in nine games, and was held off the scoring sheet just twice. Will play at Endicott.

ERIK HATTON, Timberlane Senior, defense

All-New Hampshire Division 2 pick. Dominated the middle of the defense as a long stickman and was in charge of defensive calls. "He's the smartest defensive player I've ever had," said fifth-year coach Gary Sherman. Passed for 1,025 yards and 12 touchdowns and was an Eagle-Tribune All-Star in basketball. Ranked No. 4 in his class of 378 students. Scored 2,070 on the SATs. Will study engineering at RPI.

"He was always a big-game player,'' said coach Gary Sherman. An Eagle-Tribune All-Star in hockey, scoring 22 goals including the overtime game-winner in the Division 2 state title game. Ranked No. 19 in class of 378 students. Will attend Bryant.

Astros' Auger: The complete package

At 15-years-old, most high school athletes are fighting for playing time on the JV or freshman teams.

But not Tom Auger. The Pinkerton star was busy dominating New Hampshire lacrosse.

"Tom is, in all fazes of the game, our best attackman," Pinkerton coach Brian O'Reilly said during the season. "He's the complete package."

Just a sophomore, Auger tied for the area lead in goals (57) and paced the region with 83 points on his way to becoming the sixth different Astro to earn Eagle-Tribune Player of the Year honors (Brian Boyle won it twice). That after helping lead Pinkerton to a 16-3 record.

"He's a classic attackman," said O'Reilly. "He comes from behind the cage and looks to either dump it off or fire a shot. He has the best shot on the team."

Auger didn't waste time making his mark on the local scene. He earned a spot on the varsity team as a freshman, scoring 16 goals. But that was just a preview for this season, in which he earned All-New Hampshire Division 1 honors.

But the youngster is far from a ball hog.

"He actually doesn't shoot as much as I would like," said O'Reilly. "He is a very well-rounded player."

Auger has plenty of "backyard" chemistry with a few of his teammates. His brother Mike is Pinkerton's top faceoff man , and cousin Jeff is an up-and-coming midfielder. They are carrying on the tradition started by Tom and Mike's father Tom, Jeff's dad Marc and uncles Michael and Marty. All played lacrosse for O'Reilly with the Astros.

"I'm looking to make plays happen," he said. "I want to get as many points and assists as possible. Whatever's open. That's what I'm looking for."
