Warriors suffer setback

NORTH ANDOVER — The Merrimack College volleyball team saw its playoff chances suffer with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-14 loss to American International.

The Yellow Jackets came out strong, leading for the entire first set.

Merrimack responded early in the second, leading 11-5 behind two aces from Natalee Yeazle, but AIC recovered, tying the game at 15 after a kill from Talia de Souza and finished the set on a 20-9 run to take the second 25-20.

AIC cruised in the third, building leads of 6-1 and 20-6. The Warriors will go for a program-best 21st win tomorrow at Assumption in the season finale.
