Pelham wins Div. 5 title; Pinkerton loses in OT

For a second straight season, the Pelham High School football team celebrated with the state championship plaque today.

Led by record-breaking senior running back Bruce Vieira, the Pythons rolled to a 22-0 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas of Dover to earn their second consecutive Division 5 New Hampshire state title.

But the news wasn't so bright out of Derry.

Vying for its fourth consecutive Division 1 state title, Pinkerton Academy dropped a heartbreaker to Nashua South, 33-32 in overtime.
