Warrior women explode on offense
With five players scoring at least three goals, the No. 11 Warrior women's lacrosse team defeated AIC yesterday, 19-8.
Colleen Strachan led all players with five goals and one assist while sophomore Olivia Huie chipped in with four goals and one assist. North Andover's Jenn Pino joined two Merrimack teammates with three-goal efforts.
Pino got the Warriors on the board first, then Merrimack rode a nine-goal run to a 14-2 halftime lead and the easy victory.
Andover's Sam Kiesel made eight saves in her first start to pick up the win.
Men's tennis blanks Assumption
The Merrimack men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Assumption yesterday at Cedardale Health and Fitness Center.
The Warriors improve to 8-5 on the season and remains undefeated in the Northeast-10 with a 4-0 mark.
Max Eppley, Sean Pahler, Chris Barnhart, Vince Bellino, Petar Golijanin and Chris Toegemann were all victorious in doubles and singles to create the shutout win.
