Little League: North Andover falls to Bedford at New Englands

---- — CRANSTON, R.I. — North Andover West faltered late and fell to Bedford (N.H.) 16-5 in the New England Little League 10-year-old tourney.

After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, North Andover struck back with five runs in the bottom of the inning. Key hits were delivered by Jason Faro (1 for 3, 1 RBI) and Chris Pensavalli (1 for 2, 1 RBI).

It was tied 5-5 going into the fifth when the wheels came off as West gave up 10 runs on just four hits.

Jack Twombly and Aidan Ham played well defensively for the North Andover 10-year-olds, who are 0-2 in the tourney. Jack Morin and Brady O’Brien led the offense with two hits a piece.

North Andover will play Game 3 of the pool play tonight at 7:30 against Southington, Conn.
