Andover field hockey snapped its mini two-game skid, beating pesky Methuen 2-0. Morgan Manning and Meagan Keefe each scored a goal for the winners.

Burt leads Prep

Led by North Andover’s Max Burt’s 37 in rainy conditions, St. John’s Prep defeated Malden Catholic 243-263. The Eagles (12-3) clinched a co-championship in the Catholic Conference with BC High.

Lennon music to Methuen’s ears

Kelly Lennon won the 200 IM, 100 backstroke and swam on the winning 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay as Methuen topped Burlington 92-83.

Bresette fuels fast start

Sarah Bresette scored in the first three minutes and also assisted twice as Brooks trounced Phillips Academy 3-1 in girls soccer.

Course record

Anoush Shehadeh set a course record at St. Paul’s with an 18:31 for 5K as the Phillips Academy girls cross country team prevailed with a 22-33 victory.

Wildcat revenge

Whittier’s girls cross country team made amends for an earlier loss to Presentation of Mary by defeating the Panthers 20-41. Sydney Moran was first overall for PMA in 21:01 on the rain-soaked 5K course but Whittier had the superior depth led by Corinne Bilodeau in fourth and Kaitlin Wright in fifth.
