Windham finishes off rout of Kingswood

Seven Windham running backs rushed 35 times for 347 yards as the Jaguars routed Kingswood 42-6 in Division 1V football action yesterday.

The game was started Friday, but called due to the terrible weather.

Yes, it took lightning strikes a little over 3 minutes into the second quarter to stop Windham’s bludgeoning offense, an attack that found the end zone on its first three possessions for a 20-6 lead before officials pulled the plug Friday.

The game resumed yesterday at 1 p.m. with Windham taking a commanding 28-6 lead by halftime.

Tommy Anderson rushed nine times for 121 yards. Jeremy Cocciardi carried five times for 82 yards. Dan Cannone took six handoffs for 56 yards and Kevin Cooney carried nine times for 51 yards.

Quarterback Joe Lorenz completed 4 of 8 passes for 71 yards and also ran the football twice for 11 yards.

Receivers Tom Anderson and Joe Frake each caught two passes. Anderson finished with 34 yards and Frake posted 37 yards.
