---- — When you see Connor Moynihan, it’s hard to believe he’s still only 15 years old.

Moynihan, who just finished his freshman year at Windham High, is already 6-3, 205 lbs. He’s a tremendous baseball prospect — the former Little League phenom batted .415 for the Jaguars — but hockey is his future.

He could play Division 1 like his father’s brother Ryan Moynihan (Cornell) or his cousins Chucky Tomes (Northeastern) and Scott Tomes (UConn). Connor’s older brother, Danny, also is a talented hockey prospect.

Ryan, a lefty-shooting left wing, led the U16 Islanders junior team out of Merrimack College in goals. Recently, he was drafted in the fifth round by the Halifax Mooseheads of the rugged Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

In this week’s Around the Horn, Moynihan talks about his QMJHL vs. college decision, always being the biggest kid in class and the NHL player to which he’s often compared.

What was it like being drafted? “It was an honor to be drafted by Halifax. It’s a great organization.”

Did you know they were interested? “I knew they were interested but I didn’t think 5th round.”

Are you going to sign? “I don’t know what I’m going to do. If you play Quebec Juniors, you can’t play Division 1 college hockey. I’m not sure what path I will take.”

What’s the time frame on your decision? “I’m going to wait another year and see if colleges are interested. I’ll wait another year and play U18 hockey. I’m with the Islanders out of Merrimack College.”

Who did you play with last year? “The U16 Islanders.”

Does Halifax retain your rights? “If I decide to play, I’d have to play with them. I’m glad they picked me. They won it all last year.”

This area is a mecca for college hockey. How tough would it be to skip that? “My goal my whole life was to play Division 1 hockey. A year ago I started getting interest from the QMJHL. I’m not sure if it will be that or college.”

Which way are you leaning? “To be honest, I’m not sure.”

How big are you? “6-3, 205.”

How old? “I’m 15. My birthday is July 20.”

How big will you be? “I got an X-ray and they said that my growth plates are still open. Hopefully, I’m still growing. My goal is 6-4, 230.”

Are you strong? “I’m naturally big and work out a lot. I can leg press 500 lbs. a lot of times. My max is probably 570.”

Were you always so big? “I was always the tallest in class. I love it. In middle school I’d always stick out. Sometimes you can get in trouble in school or the rink. I’ll get penalties easier cause I’m bigger.”

How did you do with the Islanders? “I was the top scorer on my team (10 goals in 19 games).”

Did you consider playing for the Windham-Pelham high school team? “No, not really.”

Did you consider prep school? “Not really. I just wanted to stay local.”

What are you doing this summer? “I’m going to train really hard with Mike Boyle. Do hockey and work out every day.”

What’s your favorite personal athletic achievement? “Definitely this draft.”

Are you from an athletic family? “I have a brother, Danny, who will be a junior at Windham. He’s really fast and has good hands and scoring touch. He played with the U18 Islanders.

“My uncle played at Cornell (Ryan Moynihan, who had 45 career goals and 61 career assists). My dad, Dan, played hockey for UMass Boston and played in Europe.”

What did you think of the Bruins’ last game? “I thought it was a nightmare. I started growing a beard for the playoffs. I had a mustache and I shaved it off.”

Who do you pattern your game after? “I’m a power forward, I try to play like Milan Lucic. He hits, he fights and he scores.”

Who’s your dream date? “Selena Gomez.”

What is your pet peeve? “Waking up at 7 a.m. for hockey.”

Who do you follow on Twitter-Facebook? “Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara.”

Do you have any pets? “A bulldog named Daisy and a yellow Lab named Bauer.”

What is the most embarrassing song you have in your iPod? “Boom, Boom, Boom.”
