Chloe Rothman netted a game-high 23 points while teammate Shelby Secor added a double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds) to lift Merrimack women’s basketball 80-62 over St. Michael’s.
Ashley Weissmann also finished in double figures (12 points).
Melissa Miller of North Andover came off the bench to grab four rebounds.
Merrimack, which led by just four points at halftime before breaking the game open in the second half, improved to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the Northeast-10.
St. Michael’s dropped to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
MEN’S TEAM LOSES
JT Strickland poured in 17 points but the Merrimack men lost 81-69 to St. Michael’s.
Anthony Barry added a double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) and also had four blocks.
Meanwhile, Gelvis Solano — fresh off winning the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, netted 14 points and added seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and three steals.
The Warriors fell to 6-4 overall and 4-4 in the conference. St. Michael’s improved to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
