Stanford football coach David Shaw claimed that for the freshman class in the fall of 2014 there were only 80 high school seniors “at the most” his staff wanted who could be admitted.
Why pretend that Stanford football players are getting even close to the same grades/SATs (average Stanford student is about 2,220) that the non-football players do?
In 2008 the Stanford football average on the two-tier SAT was 1,176. There are plenty of big-time football players who earn that pedestrian score.
