Wrestling All-Stars: Methuen's Monserrat repeats as MVP

TYLER FITZPATRICK, Timberlane Senior, 120

Repeat Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Moved up from 106 with no problem. Division 1 state champ and placed first in Meet of Champions. Placed sixth in New England. Had overall 45-8 record. Tireless worker. Technically sound and rarely makes mistakes. Tough on top and difficult to score points on. Loves the sport. Hopes to wrestle in college.

TIM McLINDEN, Timberlane Senior, 126

Didn’t start wrestling until freshman year but picked up sport quickly. Two terrific seasons as starter. Finished season at 43-6. Resilient. At his best late in the match. Placed first at rugged Sanford Tournament. Also first at Timberlane Invitational, Division 1 state meet and Meet of Champions. Talented in academics and skilled musician.

DEREK BOHLE, Timberlane Junior, 132

One of the big surprises of season. In first year as full-time starter, came in second at New England, finishing 45-11. Runner-up to unbeaten New England champ Jean-Luc Lemieux at Division 1 state meet, Meet of Champions and New England. Placed first at rugged Sanford tournament. “He’s tenacious and never gives up,” said coach Barry Chooljian.

JEAN-LUC LEMIEUX, Londonderry Junior, 132

Undefeated New England champion with school-record 50-0 mark. Had very few close matches. Had major decision in New England finals. Three-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Transferred from Pinkerton and didn’t miss a beat. Quiet off the mat, tenacious on it. Went up three weight classes as a sophomore, one this year. Owns three-year record of 123-10.

ANFERNEE GREEN, Lawrence Senior, 132

Four-year wrestler came on strong to finish 47-7. Sectional champ. Won Division 1 state meet with classic OT win in finals. Third at All-State and placed fifth in New England. Loves a challenge. Enjoys wrestling against coaches and state’s best. Hard worker in off season. Loves the sport and plans on wrestling in college.
