Vonleh pulls down 6 rebounds at McDonald's Game

CHICAGO — New Hampton School senior Noah Vonleh of Haverhill was tied for the second leading rebounder for the East squad, which fell to the West, 110-99, in the 36th annual McDonald’s All-American Game.

The 6-9 Indiana recruit came off the bench to grab six rebounds. He scored three points on 1-of-2 shooting from the floor while struggling at the line (1 of 6). Andrew Wiggins, the top recruit in the country, led the East with 19 points. Wayne Selden, from Boston, added 13. High-flying 6-9 Arizona recruit Aaron Gordon won MVP honors. He scored a game-high 24 points in the game, which was played at the United Center.

Vonleh, who played his first two years at Haverhill High, is the second area schoolboy ever to play in the game, which features the nation’s top 25 seniors. Scott Hazelton of Central Catholic was chosen in 2000 when the game was played in Boston.
