Martinez, Salem upset Londonderry

---- — LONDONDERRY — Jason Martinez rushed 27 times for 175 yards and two touchdowns to lead Salem to a 29-7 win over Londonderry.

He scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and a 54-yard run in the fourth quarter. The other points came on a 5-yard Jake Poore pass from Nick Shumski and a Josh Rodriguez 5-yard run.

Jonathan Young scored on a second-quarter 4-yard run for Londonderry to even the score at 7-7.

Austin Homsey led the Salem defense with 10 tackles and Sean Nartiff had a sack. The Blue Devils held 1,000-yard rusher Dennis Bishop to 39 yards on 10 carries. Salem finished up with a 3-6 record including after an 0-4 start. Londonderry (4-5) will play Pinkerton next week in the playoffs.
