Trailing 7-0 after just four plays, Milano got the Raiders back in the game quickly with a 69-yard TD pass to Cody Demers on Central’s first offensive play. He then used his running (9 carries, 80 yards) and passing (210 yards, 2 TDs) to pace a 60-28 romp.
A season ago, Matt Burns made the first interception of his career, and was tackled by the Dracut QB one yard from a touchdown. Yesterday, the senior defensive lineman made his second career pick count, snatching a screen pass and running it back 12 yards for Haverhill’s only touchdown of the day as they earned the 10-7 playoff victory over Lynn English.
Central Catholic Junior
All season long, Mike Balsamo has been a ballhawk on defense and he had another interception yesterday in the Raiders’ 60-28 win over Lexington In addition to being in on eight tackles. Offensively, Balsamo rushed for 102 yards on 14 carries and scored one of the Raiders’ nine touchdowns.
Oliver Eberth, E.J. Perry
Andover High QBs Oliver Eberth and E.J. Perry IV understand it’s better to give then to receive. In last night’s 39-10 Warrior win over Lawrence, each decided to do both. Perry, who hit 7 of 8 passes for 146 yards, threw three TD passes, including a 14-yarder to Eberth. Not to be outdone, Eberth hit on 10 of 15 passes for 96 yards, with one TD pass to — you guessed it — Perry IV.
