Fisher Cats sweep Mets

LOWELL — Ryan Pressly fanned six in five innings as the Lowell Spinners won their fourth straight game, 4-2, over Staten Island in front of 5,030 fans at LeLacheur Park.

Pressly (2-0, 1.20 ERA) had retired the first 10 Staten Island hitters until right fielder Zoilo Almonte turned on an inside fastball and drilled it over the right field wall in the fourth inning to give the Yankees an early 1-0 lead.

However, fielding problems for the Yankees caused the tide to turn in the bottom half of the inning as Lowell (8-6) scored four runs on just two hits.

Derrik Gibson led off the inning by reaching on an error, and with two outs, stole second base and third base on consecutive pitches. Willie Holmes then reached on an error, which scored Gibson to tie the game.
