MANCHESTER, N.H. — In their best finish to the 2013 season, the Fisher Cats (32-34) overcame a four-run ninth-inning deficit to stun the Akron Aeros (32-33) last night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Brad Glenn’s single to left field plated A.J. Jimenez to complete a 9-8 come-from-behind victory and even the series with the Aeros at one game each.
The late-inning was set up when Akron scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning against Dustin Antolin. The rally broke a 4-4 tie and lined the Aeros up for their fifth straight win over the Fisher Cats in 2013.
In the bottom of the ninth, however, the Fisher Cats had different plans.
Chorye Spoone (3-2) earned the win for the Fisher Cats with a scoreless ninth inning in relief.
Flores took the loss allowing two runs and four hits without retiring a Fisher Cats hitter.
Clint Robinson led the Fisher Cats 11-hit attack going 2 for 5 with his sixth home run and two RBI.
