Marcus Walden tossed a three-hit shutout as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats thumped Harrisburg, 7-0 in Pennsylvania yesterday.
The 24-year old Walden. selected by Toronto in the ninth round of the 2007 draft (Fresno City College), needed just 90 pitches for his fifth win. He did not walk a batter and struck out five for his first career complete game. It was the first nine-inning shutout for a Fisher Cats pitcher since Kyle Drabek’s no-hitter on July 4, 2010.
The Fisher Cats open a seven-game homestand tonight against the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies). Game time is 7:05 in the Queen City.
