Play of the Day No. 1

Ryan McCarthy

One play opened the floodgates for Timberlane. With the score tied 0-0 midway through the first quarter, Ryan McCarthy intercepted a pass and rumbled down the sidelines 35 yards, breaking five tackles along the way, to the 1-yard-line. That set up the first of seven straight touchdowns, one of which was a 60-yard reception by McCarthy.

Play of the Day No. 2

Ryan Boucher

With North Reading trailing 14-9, a group of North Reading players hammered Pentucket quarterback Ryan Kuchar to cause a fumble, and Boucher was there to pounce on the ball for the turnover. Three plays later, C.J. McCarthy ran in from 3 yards out for the game-winning touchdown.

Marathon drive

Salem

As it did six times against Exeter kicker and touchback machine Logan Laurent, Salem started a second-quarter drive at its own 20. Over nine minutes and 22 plays later, the Blue Devils found the end zone on Rasheed Adigun’s 2-yard run. In between, Salem converted two third-down and four fourth-down plays including a dazzling 24-yard pass grab by Adigun on fourth-and-18 in Exeter territory.

Can’t stop Cristian

Cristian Rivera

Greater Lawrence running back Cristian Rivera has been a one-man wrecking crew this season, and last night was no different. The senior back rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns. It was his second straight game with over 200 yards rushing, and he now has 651 yards for the season.
