Former Haverhill star wins Bobby Bell race

Former Hillies star Jefferson Welch won the 26th Annual Bobby Bell 5 Mile Road Race in 28:01 yesterday.

Another ex-Haverhill star Larry Fowle took fourth overall (29:22).

Laura Rudd-Avery, a former Amesbury standout, was the first woman to finish (34:29). She earned sixth overall.

Four-time winner Craig Fram still holds the best time ever in the race, a time of 24:40 run in 1996.
