Merrimack stuns stonehill

EASTON—The Merrimack College women shocked Stonehill last night in the Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals, dropping the Skyhawks on their home floor, 77-72.

The Warriors move on to the conference semifinals and will battle host Assumption, Thursday night at 7 p.m.

Chloe Rothman paced Merrimack in a 23-point, 5 assist night. Senior Kelly Schatzlein added eight points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks inside.

The Merrimack College softball team opened with a pair of losses on Long Island in New York, 12-4 to Adelphi and 2-0 to LIU-Post. Merrimack will play again Sunday at Queens College.
