ANDOVER — With just two wins in its last two seasons, Phillips was ready and raring to show that 2013 would be different.
If Week 1 was any indication, the Big Blue proved it in a big way.
Phillips jumped out to a 21-point lead in the first quarter and rolled to a season-opening 40-14 drubbing of Loomis Chaffee yesterday.
“It felt great to win an opener,” said Phillips coach Leon Modeste. “We haven’t beaten Loomis in four years and we haven’t won an opener in awhile. A lot of these guys have taken their lumps over the last few years, so they are hopeful this will be the start of something.”
