If you picked more winners than Eagle-Tribune executive sports editor Bill Burt did — and that wasn’t too difficult considering he picked seven winners in the 15 games — and you had the New England Patriots point total exactly, at 23, you won.
Each week a maximum of 10 T-shirts are awarded to those that “beat” Burt. There is a tiebreaker (Pats point total). The one caveat is that if more than 10 people pick more winners and they get the Pats point total exactly, they are guaranteed a T-shirt.
And this week there were 12 winners, all of whom will receive a T-shirt, which are printed by Optimum Sportswear in Lawrence, a sponsor of the weekly pro football contest.
In all, there were 312 entries.
Burt wasn’t the only one that struggled in a crazy week of upsets. More than half of the entries had seven or fewer wins, too.
Here are the Week 3 winners:
Chris DiPietro of North Reading, William Waterman of Haverhill, Donald Aimaro of Bradford, Edward Bioren of Haverhill, Juan Crispin of Lynn, Mark Welch of Methuen, Katelyn Bioren of Haverhill, Donald DiMatteo of Atkinson, N.H., John Armano of North Andover, Jeff Stearn of Hampstead, N.H., and Carl Clarke of Salem, N.H.
