Final Score

True grit unrewarded

Down 4-0 in the first 10 minutes, the Pinkerton Academy boys soccer team found its grit, resolve and legs, fighting all the back to force overtime at 4-4, before falling to Manchester Central, 5-4. “This was one of the wildest games I have ever coached. I can’t say enough about this group of kids,” said coach Kerry Boles.

Lancers go Gaw-Gaw

With three minutes left, Nate Gaw shook loose on a breakaway and scored the lone goal of the night in 1-0 Londonderry win over Nashua North. “I thought we played some of our best soccer, as a team, for the entire first half,” said first-year coach Todd Ellis. “Hopefully that was a sign of things to come.” Brendan Enwright and Alex Walter played well for the defense.

Hillies sink Central

Richie Davisand Andy Segura both scored in the second half to lead Haverhill soccer 2-0 over MVC rival Central Catholic. Evan Penney made seven big saves for the Hillies.
