The Andover linebacking tandem of senior Sam Clark, who is one of five captains, and sophomore Ned Deane has led Amherst to a 5-1 record. They are 2-3 on the Lord Jeffs in tackles. Clark checks in with 23 unassisted tackles, 15 assisted, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and an interception. Dean has 21 tackles, 16 assists and 2 pass break-ups.
Two-sport freshman Jaymie Spears of Haverhill has six tackles and four assists.
Lord Jeffs senior Kristen Moulton of North Reading runs for the cross country team. She finished 96th out of 453 runners at the 6K James Early Invitational with a 25:09.12 clocking.
Will the Thrill
Will Menter of Haverhill is the starting defensive center midfielder for 9-6-2 Framingham State. The senior four-year starter scored both goals in the 2-1 OT win against Rhode Island College and has three goals and an assist on the year.
The football team is 8-1 and averaging 31.8 points a game. Junior Aaron Ferreira of Methuen an imposing 6-1, 275-pounder, is doing yeoman work on the offensive line.

Second-year tri-captain Lauren Bova, a senior back from North Andover, is a four-year starter on the women’s soccer team.
