Presentation of Mary clipped North Shore/Essex Aggie 52-43 in overtime as Na’Blahge Adaramola hit a free throw with 4 seconds left in regulation and superior defense prevailed afterward. Sophomore Hannah Walwort earned her first varsity start and led the team with 20 points.
Rousing start
Windham’s girls outscored Merrimack Valley 27-12 in the first quarter on their way to a 59-48 victory. Clairee Putnam and Kelsey Schievel scored 21 and 20 points respectively and both scored nine points in the fuirst quarter. Bernadette Connors had 12 rebounds.
Eight 3s for Wells
Senior guard Andrew Wells knocked down eight 3-pointers and finished with 24 points as Whittier boys basketball won 78-42 over Lynn Tech.
Pin for win
Needing a pin for the win, Salem heavyweight Tyler Greene delivered at the 1:10 mark of the first period to give the Blue Devils (3-3) a 42-41 victory over Nashua.
St. John’s rules
Leading the way for St. John’s were senior guards, Drex Costello and Tyler Dooley, both of North Andover. Costello scored 19 while Dooley chipped in with 14 as St. John’s basketball won 60-43 over Haverhill.
