ANA Synchro at Lake Placid Olympic Training Center

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Five members of the Andover/N. Andover YMCA’s ANA Synchro senior swim team had the honor of training at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY last weekend.

Working with Olympic medalists Karen and Sarah Josephson (Silver ‘88/Gold ‘92) these ANA swimmers had the opportunity to perfect their skills in an environment few will ever experience. Only athletes achieving a minimum score of 67.0 at a championship level meet were selected to attend.

Local ANA Synchro swimmers attending the Olympic Training Gold Clinic included Nicole Carzo, Sachiko Hagiya, and Gloria McNamara of Andover, Lily Koenig of Boxford and Kate Quinn of North Andover.

The previous weekend ANA Synchro senior team member Kate Quinn also attended the East Zone Gold Clinic in Buffalo, New York where she received training from Sue Nesbit, current coach of the US National Team.

For young swimmers who may not be quite ready for the Olympics but are interested in synchronized swimming, ANA Synchro offers Learn to Sync programs. For more information contact head coach Svetlana Malinovskaya at 978-685-3541 at ext. 147 or send an emaismalinovskaya@mvymca.org
