---- — How did the season go for you? “We had a rough season. But overall, it was probably my favorite season. We became really close on and off the court. We worked really hard. It was awesome to see the team come together.”

You finished with a huge game (12 points, 21 rebounds, 7 blocks) in the season-ending win over Lawrence. “All the seniors worried that we wouldn’t play well. It was the best feeling in the world. I felt good about the way I played. We ended with our heads held high.”

What can Haverhill do to turn things around? “I’ve done clinics in the middle school. Just that everyone stays with the program. There is some really good talent coming up. I think we can turn it around.”

You’ve put up some impressive rebounding numbers. What’s the key to your rebounding? “My dad (Brad Hoopes) always taught me the most important thing is rebounding. I always had it in my head I had to rebound. The ball has to be mine.”

What’s the best line you’ve heard about being a basketball player named Hoopes? “A lot of people say, ‘Hoopes, there it is!’”

What’s your favorite personal athletic achievement? “I’d honestly have to say the last basketball game against Lawrence. To see how relieved we were. All the hard work paid off. It was the best feeling ever. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that.”

How are you doing academically? “I’m in the National Honor Society. Last time I checked I was ranked 72nd in a class of about 400.”

Do you play any other sports? “I played soccer in the fall. I used to do AAU basketball. This spring I‘m just taking it off.”

What’s been the lowest point of your career? “This season. Coming into the season we were always a winning team (15-8 last year, 12-9 sophomore year). We lost four starters, one of our captains didn’t come back. It was kind of a struggle.”

Are you looking at any schools? “I’m deciding between Providence, Stonehill, Merrimack, UMass and UNH. I got into all five. I really have no idea where I’m going.”

Do you work? “I’ll probably look for a job in the spring. Last year I worked at E-Z Way Cleaners.”

What’s something people don’t know about you? “I was born in Colorado.”

What’s your dream job? “I’m interested in psychology and counseling.”

Who’s your dream date? “My boyfriend Nick Comei.”

What is your pet peeve? “People that judge other people when they don’t know them.”

Do you have a nickname? “Mom, the team calls me. Because I listen to people’s problems.”

Who do you follow on Twitter-Facebook? “The Kardashians, KG (Kevin Garnett) and Rajon Rondo.”

Do you have any pets? “A cat, a Persian named Seamus.”

What is the most embarrassing song you have in your iPod? “Anything by Justin Bieber.”

If you were named principal, what’s the first thing you’d do? “Free admission to all the games.”
