You have to feel for Bob Parker (North Andover), Bob Reed (Bradford), Pete and Patricia Archibald (East Hampstead, N.H.), Sal Mele (Salem, N.H.), Paul Despres (Hampstead, N.H.), Stephen McKeon (Haverhill), Jimmy Warden (North Andover), Dan Fleming (Methuen), Carl Clarke (Salem, N.H.) and John W. Gennell (Methuen).
On a normal week, all 11 of them would be winning “I Beat Burt” T-shirts. They were all a perfect 13-0 in picking pro football games this past weekend. But it wasn’t a normal week. That’s because Bill Burt, the executive sports editor of The Eagle-Tribune, also picked every game correctly in Week 11. And we don’t give away “I Tied Burt” T-shirts.
In fact, there were 45 entries that were 12-1 for the week, with most of them picking against the N.Y. Jets, for obvious reasons (they don’t like them and they’ve been horrible). But even 12-1 doesn’t cut it this week.
Please note Thanksgiving Day games, including the Patriots-Jets game, are not included in this week’s contest. You can fill out the entry blank in the newspaper or you can fill out the entry blank very easily on-line at www.eagletribune.com/beatburt.
